About

I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. As a Psychology student at Fu Jen Catholic University, I was fascinated with human mental processes and human behavior. I studied Perception Psychology and Cognitive Psychology to understand the process of visual information, the principles of perceptual organization, and the mental models of problem-solving. I learned the methods and attitudes to listening to people and realizing the real problems from their words during the training in Counseling Psychology.

A plan change made me pursue my graduate study in Computer Arts at the Academy of Art San Francisco. I learned from Composition and Color Theory to create designs that are not only balanced but also rhythmic and melodic. The studies in Imagery and Motion Graphics developed my capabilities to visualize concepts and tell stories. The completion of the master thesis and project trained me through the process from research, information architecture, interaction design to prototyping.

With more than 15 years of professional experience, I’ve worked in many aspects of design. Early in my career, I started as Web Designer, Visual Designer, and Art Director. I taught myself HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery, and served as a front-end programmer to develop high-fidelity interactive prototypes. The rise of mobile apps gradually shifted my design focus to the interaction design and user experience design. Eventually, what I’ve learned and trained in Psychology gets the chance to be applied to modern design practice.

Today, I work as an Interaction, User Interface, Experience Designer with Leadership and Product Management.
